Day One: Houston to Shreveport/Bossier City, LA

The Amazing Driving Cat

It was an easy, four-hour drive from Houston to Shreveport.  However, I had to stop three times to tighten the tarp in the back because I couldn’t see over the air bubble the wind was creating.

I was able to check in to my hotel in Bossier City, LA, freshen up and head off to Superior Grill on Line Avenue to meet a friend from 8th grade and high school.

SurprisedImagine my surprise when I stepped inside the restaurant and saw two other friends from 8th grade. They told me there was a thread on Facebook about getting everyone to meet up. The instigator of the thread and get together thought I was added to it. It was a great surprise.

Seinfeld Happy DanceI was very excited to see women I hadn’t seen in 20 years. We laughed and shared our lives over the next 4.5 hours. It was like no time had passed and we just picked up where we left off.

I didn’t get to see everyone I wanted to on this trip but when I drive back to Houston in November maybe we can get together then.

On the next leg of my trip I will try to make it to Birmingham, AL before nightfall.
